Dental Alignment

The positioning of teeth is essential for a harmonious smile.

Poor dental alignment can lead to complexes and functional dysfunctions, particularly when chewing. There are, however, solutions available.

WHY ALIGN YOUR TEETH ?

Every patient’s motivations differ: some want to align their teeth for aesthetic reasons, others for functional reasons. In fact, misaligned teeth can cause functional problems such as :

  • muscular tension in the neck or jaws
  • sleep apnoea
  • chewing difficulties

So, for both aesthetic and medical reasons, your health practitioner may suggest that you use various techniques to straighten your teeth.

DENTAL ALIGNMENT: WHAT TREATMENTS ARE AVAILABLE ?

There are several solutions for restoring good dental alignment.

We suggest :

METAL BRACES

Metal braces are devices used to align teeth, correct bite problems and improve smiles. They consist of small pieces of stainless steel or special metal alloy bonded to each tooth, connected by an orthodontic wire that gradually moves the teeth. Metal braces are strong and resistant to everyday wear and tear.

CERAMIC BRACES

Ceramic braces are aesthetic orthodontic appliances made from translucent ceramic or porcelain. They align teeth by applying progressive pressure with an orthodontic wire, but are prone to staining, requiring rigorous dental hygiene. Popular with adults and teenagers concerned about the aesthetics of their smile during orthodontic treatment.

INVISALIGN MOUTHPIECE

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment using custom-made transparent aligners to correct dental problems. Unlike traditional braces, they are discreet and removable. Patients wear a series of aligners that gradually move their teeth. This treatment offers discretion, removability for eating and brushing, and ease of maintenance.

A diagnosis by an experienced practitioner is necessary to assess and discuss the most suitable solution with you.

RESULTS EXPECTED AFTER DENTAL ALIGNMENT

The duration of the treatment varies according to each patient. Regular monitoring is necessary throughout the treatment.

Follow-up is also provided after the treatment: this consists of the fitting of support devices (wire and/or splints) to prevent any recurrence, followed by check-ups to ensure that no oral or dental problems alter the results obtained.

THE PRICE OF THIS TECHNIQUE: AESTHETIC DENTISTRY

Following an initial consultation, your dental surgeon and his team will advise you on the most suitable treatment for you, and provide you with the corresponding fees.
